The Best Selling Cars of 2017

Another year is done and dusted, so it’s time for us to take a look at the best selling cars of 2017. UK car sales dropped almost 6% in 2017 compared to the previous year and it’s the first decline in 6 years, with a particular decline in diesel car sales. This decline is being blamed on the announcement that petrol and diesel cars will be banned and the tax adjustment that was announced in November for diesel cars.

Despite a drop in the number of sales, we’re continuing to see some excellent cars on the market and there are some new releases that we’re expecting to see very soon.

1. Ford Fiesta – 94,533 registrations

For another year in a row the Ford Fiesta has held onto its number one position as the most sold car in the UK. The steering has been improved on the latest model so it’s easy to drive and space inside has increased making it more practical than ever. Despite having a best-seller, Ford are still releasing a new model in 2018 that we’re very excited for!

Up from number 4 last year, the Volkswagen Golf knocks the Focus out of second place. It’s an extremely well built, quality car that has plenty of space inside to comfortably sit a family. It is an absolute pleasure to drive as it glides over bumps in the road, which makes it perfect for the UK’s notoriously bad roads.

It scored a full five stars in the Euro NCAP crash test scoring particularly well in the adult occupant category.
